Overview

An education session for nonprofit leaders!

Educating volunteers is fundamental to good governance. When it comes to managing reserves, the good news is that it doesn’t require a high degree of sophistication to be effective at oversight and making important decisions. In this session we address what it means to invest prudently, the most critical components of an effective Investment Policy Statement, and the information necessary to verify policy compliance and that investment performance is in line with expectations.

Learning Objectives:
Nonprofit leaders will learn critical relationship between risk/time and how to balance preservation of capital with preservation of purchasing power. Critical investment policies, such as target allocations, rebalancing, roles & responsibilities, and other important investment restrictions will be outlined. We’ll also provide the baseline for an understanding of market indices and a blended policy benchmark – which forms the basis for performance expectations and accountability.
