This presentation will include a discussion on how a contractor can generate tax savings for investments being made in:
- Innovative assembly or construction methods
- Building designs
- Energy-efficient buildings and/or features
- Construction manufacturing efficiency
Participants will also learn about maximizing tax benefits and cash flow by conducting a study focused on identification of qualified research and development activities, and associated expenditures eligible for federal tax credits.
Joseph Natarelli is leader of the Firm’s national Construction Industry Practice group,as well as the Firm’s office managing partner in the Long Wharf Drive office in New Haven, Connecticut. In addition, he is a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. Mr. Natarelli has more than 30 years of experience with international accounting and consulting firms. He frequently serves as the lead audit engagement partner for a varietyof consulting matters.
Barry A. Fischman
Barry A. Fischman is a Partner in the Firm’s New Haven, Connecticut office and a member of its National Construction, Real Estate, Business Enterprise Tax Services, High-Net-Worth Individuals, Tax Compliance, Family Wealth Services, and Trusts and Estates practice groups. He has more than 30 years of tax and consulting experience providing services primarily to closely-held businesses. He has a wide range of industry experience including construction, real estate, research and development, professional services, manufacturing and high-net-worth individuals.
William Kuhlman is a tax partner in Marcum’s Philadelphia office and is Marcum’s national Research and Development Tax Credits Leader. Mr. Kuhlman has spent over 20 years consulting with middle-market U.S. corporations and was instrumental in the success of national, regional and boutique R&D tax consulting practices.
His prior work experience includes three years as a federal tax services director with a New York City accounting firm, where he developed a specialty R&D tax credit incentives practice. Mr. Kuhlman was responsible for accumulating approximately $50 million in R&D tax credits for clients including multinational companies.
Patrick Rogers is a manager in the Tax and Business Services Division in the Firm’s Philadelphia office. He has over ten years of experience serving clients and assisting them with technical consolidated tax return issues in the areas of federal and state income and franchise tax.
Mr. Rogers is a leading member of Marcum’s Research and Development Tax Credits national team and has six years of dedicated experience within Research and Development (R&D) tax credit services. Mr. Rogers works with middle -market clients in the R&D tax credits and business tax compliance area on a variety of projects across numerous industries.
Robin Weatherby is a Manager at Marcum LLP, having over 25 years of experience providing a broad range of consulting services in the public and private financial environments. Services include compliance and statutory audits; business process analysis and redesign; corporate merger and acquisition integration; ERP system selection; software implementation; internal audit support, SOX 404 compliance, financial reporting and reconciliation.
